Answer: It is often a small part of a sill.

Batholith is a large body of intrusive igneous rock. It is formed due to subduction of large rocks near the mantle of earth which creates space for the release of magma. This magma remains beneath the earth crust gets  cooled and solidified and produce igneous rocks beneath the earth crust.  The batholith is exposed and uplifted to the outer surface of earth crust by erosion of upper layers. It may form the core of a mountain range if the batholith is formed beneath the mountain body.

Answer:

Explanation:

a ) Thermal efficiency = work output / heat input

= .38 MW / 1 MW = .38

OR 38%

Heat rejected at cold reservoir = heat input - work output

1 MW - .38 MW

= 0.62 MW.

b ) For reversible power output

efficiency = T₂ - T₁ / T₂   ; T₂ is temperature of hot reservoir and T₁ is temperature of cold reservoir.

= 1200 - 300 / 1200 = 900 / 1200

= .75

or 75%

rate at which heat is rejected

= 1 - .75 x 1

= .25 MW .

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE ITS URGENTLY NEEDED
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

Explanation:

conservation of momentum

initial momentum is zero

Lets say that m₁ moves along the x axis

and m₂ moves along the y axis

in the y direction

0 = m₁(0) + m₂(30) + m₃(vy)

0 = m₁(0) + m₂(30) + 3m₂(vy)

-3m₂(vy) = m₂(30)

vy = -10 m/s

in the x direction

0 = m₁(30) + m₂(0) + m₃(vx)

0 = 2m₂(30) + m₂(0) + 3m₂(vx)

-3m₂(vx) = 2m₂(30)

vx = -20 m/s

v = √(-10² + -20²) = 10√5 m/s ≈ 22.36 m/s

θ = arctan(-10/-20) = 206.56505... ≈ 206.6°  CCW from the + x axis

A car is moving with a constant velocity of 25 m/s. Which of the following is true?
S_A_V [24]

b) the net force on the car is zero.

Explanation:

Let's analyze each option one by one:

a) the force from the engine is greater than all the forces of friction.  --> FALSE. In fact, the car is moving at constant velocity: this means that its acceleration is zero,

a = 0

and so Newton's second law becomes

\sum F = ma = 0

where \sum F is the net force on the car and m is its mass. This means that the net force on the car is zero: so, the force from the engine cannot be greater than all the forces of friction, otherwise the net force cannot be zero.

b) the net force on the car is zero.  --> TRUE, for what we said at point A)

c) the inertia is changing.  --> FALSE. The inertia of an object just depend on the mass and the velocity of the object: as neither the mass nor the velocity are changing in this problem, then the inertia of the car is not changing.

d) the forces of friction are proportional to the acceleration of the car.  --> FALSE. Generally, the force of friction acting on an object moving on a flat surface is

F_f = \mu mg

where \mu is the coefficient of friction, m is the mass, and g the acceleration of gravity. Therefore, the force of friction does not depend on the acceleration of the car.

e) All of the above. --> FALSE
