Answer:
side length is
feet
Step-by-step explanation:
An equilateral triangle has a height of 10 feet. the height of the triangle is the perpendicular bisector to the base
so it forms a two right angle triangle
the triangle formed is a 30-60-90 degree triangle
the diagram is attached below
Let x be the side if the equilateral triangle
sin(theta)=opposite by hypotenuse
![sin(60)=\frac{10}{x}](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=sin%2860%29%3D%5Cfrac%7B10%7D%7Bx%7D)
![\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} =\frac{10}{x}](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=%5Cfrac%7B%5Csqrt%7B3%7D%7D%7B2%7D%20%3D%5Cfrac%7B10%7D%7Bx%7D)
cross multiply
![\sqrt{3} x=20](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=%5Csqrt%7B3%7D%20x%3D20)
![x=\frac{20}{\sqrt{3} } =\frac{20\sqrt{3} }{3}](https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=x%3D%5Cfrac%7B20%7D%7B%5Csqrt%7B3%7D%20%7D%20%3D%5Cfrac%7B20%5Csqrt%7B3%7D%20%7D%7B3%7D)
The answer is a , solve everything out and work it out you will see how i got it
I think what may be confusing is the fact that they also list two three digit numbers with two decimal places each. Since the number is greater than 4.49 with only two digits, it can't be 4.5 since the tenths place is odd. Same goes for less than 4.71. So the only answer would be 4.6--two digits, even tenths place, greater than 4.49 and less than 4.71.
Just some logical thinking, I guess. I think they were trying to trick you on this one.
Good luck.
The answer is 2n-24. Hope this helps!
