Answer:

Hi!

In these questions you're being asked to multiply mixed numbers. The easiest way to do this is to convert the mixed numbers to improper fractions, and then multiply them in that form.

For the first question:

1\frac{3}{5} = \frac{8}{5} ; 1\frac{2}{5} =\frac{7}{5} \\  To convert the mixed numbers to improper fractions, you just     multiply the denominator by the whole number, and then add it to the current  numerator, forming the new numerator. The denominator stays the same.

\frac{8}{5} *\frac{7}{5} = \frac{56}{25}       Next, multiply together the numerators, and then multiply together the denominators.

\frac{56}{25} = 2\frac{6}{25}

I need answers ASAP
vladimir1956 [14]

To solve this equation, the first thing to do would be to simplify. Look at the steps shown below.

-\frac{1}{2}x + 1 = 7x - 14

(To make things easier, I will be writing 1/2x as 0.5x)

First isolate x my moving the variables to one side of the equation and the numbers to the other. Please note that when you move them this way, the number or variable must become the opposite of what it currently is for the equation to remain true. The equation will now look like;

-0.5x - 7x = -1 - 14

--> -7.5x = -15

We know that 2 * 7 is 14. Since we have two hales, this creates a whole.

--->x = \frac{15}{7.5}

---->x = 2

The answer is A.
