James should get a debit card which can be tied directly to up to at least one account ie his chequing account if he so chose and that way he also does not run up a credit bill because it comes directly from his account so no credit need be obtained. On the other hand, if he wants credit but not a credit card he can get a line of credit on his chequing account and it's interest rate especially if it secured with an appropriate amount can obtain an interest rate much less than a conventional credit card and it is basically taking a loan from oneself.

DeWitt Company sells a kitchen set for $345. To promote July 4, DeWitt ran the following advertisement:
Triss [41]

Answer:

$296.7

Explanation:

Since the first four hours the kitchen set will have a discount of 12 %, plus another 2 % for the last of each hour.

Ingrid bought it at the 1 hour and 25 min, that means that she could get 12 % for the first hour plus another 2 % because of th end of the first hour.

So it will be:

14 % (345) = $48.3

To the total price: $345 - $48.3 = $ 296.7

An analysis of stockholders' equity of Hahn Corporation as of January 1, 2010, is as follows:

Answer:

Additional paid-in capital is $904,200

Explanation:

Number of shares, issued and outstanding = 93,000 shares

Acquired 2,460 shares of its stock for $75,000.

Sold 2,000 treasury shares at $35 per share.

Sold the remaining 460 treasury shares at $20 per share.

i) Acquired 2,460 shares of its stock for $75,000.

= Treasury Stock Dr $75,000

ii) Sold 2,000 treasury shares at $35 per share.

Treasury Stock (2,000 × $35) = Dr $70,000

iii) Sold the remaining treasury shares at $20 per share.

Treasury Stock (460 × $20) = Dr $9,200

Total Treasury Stock = $75,000 - $70,000 - $9,200

= ($4,200)

Paid in Cap-tresury stock= 10,000-5000=5000

Additional Paid in capital = Paid in Capital - treasury stock

= 900,000 + 4,200 = $904,200

On January 1, Skills Company purchased as a short-term investment a $1,000, 6% bondfor $1,000. The bond pays interest on January
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

Option (B) is correct.

Explanation:

Interest accrued for 6 months (January 1 to July 1):

= $1,000 × 6% × (6 ÷ 12)

= $30

This shall be credited to interest revenue as this is the income of the investor.

Sale value of investment:

= Bond selling price on July 1 + Interest accrued for 6 months

= $1,200 + $30

= $1,230

Gain on sale of investment:

= (Selling price - Purchase price) - Accrued interest

= ($1,230 - $1,000) - $30

= $200

Therefore, the Journal entry for this transaction is as follows:

Cash A/c                 Dr. $1,230

To debt investments                  $1,000

To Gain on sale of investment  $200

To Interest revenue                   $30

(To record the cash proceeds at the time the bond is sold)
