What is 4 3/4 + 7/8 showing all work
Mekhanik [1.2K]
4 \frac{3}{4} + \frac{7}{8}

Convert  mixed numbers  to improper fractions

=  \frac{19}{4} + \frac{7}{8}

Find de LCD  for 4 and 8 :

Factor each denominator  into its primes:

4 = 2^2

8 = 2^3

Find the  least common denominator 2^3 = 8

Adjust  fractions  based on  the LCD :

\frac{19*2}{8} +  \frac{7}{8}

Since the  denominators are equal , combine the fractions:

\frac{2*19+7}{8}

\frac{38+7}{8}

=  \frac{45}{8}

Therefore:

Convert  improper fractions to mixed numbers

= 5 \frac{5}{8}

hope this helps!

Cameron is playing 9 holes of golf. He needs to score a total of at most 13 over par on the last four holes to beat his best gol
Genrish500 [490]

Cameron does beat his best score. He scores 7 and 8 over par, as well as 3 under par twice. This makes him have 7 + 8 or 15 over par and 3 + 3 or 6 under par. 15 - 6 = 9, which is under 13, his current best score.
