4 \frac{3}{4} + \frac{7}{8}

Convert  mixed numbers  to improper fractions

=  \frac{19}{4} + \frac{7}{8}

Find de LCD  for 4 and 8 :

Factor each denominator  into its primes:

4 = 2^2

8 = 2^3

Find the  least common denominator 2^3 = 8

Adjust  fractions  based on  the LCD :

\frac{19*2}{8} +  \frac{7}{8}

Since the  denominators are equal , combine the fractions:

\frac{2*19+7}{8}

\frac{38+7}{8}

=  \frac{45}{8}

Therefore:

Convert  improper fractions to mixed numbers

= 5 \frac{5}{8}

hope this helps!

lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

115 * 0.35 = $40.25 off

115 - 40.25 = $74.75 after sale

add tax (0.08)

74.75 * 0.08 = $5.98 tax

74.75 + 5.98 = $80.73 in total

Noa drove from the Dead Sea up to Jerusalem, and her altitude increased at a constant rate of 740740740 meters per hour. When sh
Advocard [28]

Answer:

A=-400 + 740t

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the initial altitude ( in meters ) = a_0,

Since, altitude is increasing at a constant rate of 740 meters per hour.

So, the final altitude ( say A ) in meters after t hours = initial altitude + increment in altitude in t hours,

\implies A = a_0 + 740t

According to the question,

A = 710 meters, when t = 1.5 hours,

710 = a_0 + 740(1.5)

710 =a_0 + 1110

\implies a_0 = 710 - 1110 = -400

Hence, the required equation that shows the relationship between the altitude and number of hours,

A=-400 + 740t
