It would be 760 because you look at the ones place which in this case would be the two and you remember the Rule: 5 and above give it a shove to the highest nearest 10 and 4 and Below let it go to the lowest nearest 10,

Answer:

Since, when we round a number to nearest ten, we see the digit on ones place,

If the ones place digit < 5

Then we rounded to preceding ten,

If the ones place digit ≥ 10,

Then we rounded to succeeding ten,

In the case of rounding to nearest hundred we see the tens digit,

If it is less than 5 then the number rounded to preceding hundred while if it is more than or equal to 5 then it is rounded to succeeding hundred,

Here, the given number,

762,

∵ 2 < 5 and 6 > 5

So, 762 ≈ 760 (nearest ten )

762 ≈ 800 ( nearest thousand )

Answer:

(a)\ A_1 = s^2

(b)\ A_2 = 4s^2

(c) 4 small squares

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Small Square:

Dimension: s

Large Square:

Dimension: 2s i.e. twice as long as the small square

Solving (a): The area of the small square.

This is calculated as

Area = Length^2

So, we have:

A_1 = s^2

Solving (b): The area of the large square.

This is calculated as

Area = Length^2

So, we have:

A_2 = (2s)^2

A_2 = 4s^2

Solving (c): Number of small square to cover the large square

To do this, we simply divide their areas.

Let n represents the required number; n is calculated as:

n = \frac{A_2}{A_1}

n = \frac{4s^2}{s^2}

n = 4

Hence, 4 small squares is required to cover the large square

Write the letter for each expression in the box under the correct category in the table.
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer:

a) 9+(-3) + (-2) = 9 -5 = 4> 0 ⇒ Positive Sum

b) -12 +1 +11 = -12 +12 5 = 0 ⇒ Zero Sum

c) -3 +8 + (-4) = -7 + 8 -5 =-1 < 0 ⇒ Negative Sum

d) -4+9+(-10) = 9 -14 = -5 < 0 ⇒ Negative Sum

e) 3+(-2) + (-4) = 3 -6= -3 < 0 ⇒ Negative Sum

f) 2 + (-4) + 2 = 4 -4 = 0 ⇒ Zero Sum

Step-by-step explanation:

Positive Sum is defined as the condition in which the Sum of total of gains and losses is GREATER THAN ZERO.

Zero Sum is defined as the condition in which the Sum of total of gains and losses is EQUAL TO ZERO.

Negative Sum is defined as the condition in which the Sum of total of gains and losses is LESS THAN ZERO.

Now, here

a) 9+(-3) + (-2) = 9 -5 = 4> 0 ⇒ Positive Sum

b) -12 +1 +11 = -12 +12 5 = 0 ⇒ Zero Sum

c) -3 +8 + (-4) = -7 + 8 -5 =-1 < 0 ⇒ Negative Sum

d) -4+9+(-10) = 9 -14 = -5 < 0 ⇒ Negative Sum

e) 3+(-2) + (-4) = 3 -6= -3 < 0 ⇒ Negative Sum

f) 2 + (-4) + 2 = 4 -4 = 0 ⇒ Zero Sum
