So first add 5 to both sides so you have x ÷ 4 = -3
Then multiply both sides by 4 to get x = -12
Hope this helps!

1. A given binomial distribution has a mean of 153.1 and a standard deviation of 18.2. Would a value of 187 be considered usual
Triss [41]

Answer:

Usual, because the result is between the minimum and maximum usual values.

Step-by-step explanation:

To identify if the value is usual or unusual we're going to use the Range rule of thumbs which states that most values should lie within 2 standard deviations of the mean. If the value lies outside those limits, we can tell that it's an unusual value.

Therefore:

Maximum usual value: μ + 2σ

Minimum usual value: μ - 2σ

In this case:

μ = 153.1

σ = 18.2

Therefore:

Maximum usual value: 189.5

Minimum usual value: 116.7

Therefore, the value of 187 lies within the limits. Therefore, the correct option is D.  Usual, because the result is between the minimum and maximum usual values.

Consider an urn with 7 black balls, 3 yellow balls, and 4 orange balls. If 3 balls are chosen randomly with replacement, what is
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

1.79% chance or \frac{6}{343}

Step-by-step explanation:

7+3+4=14

chance of yellow \frac{3}{14}

chance of orange \frac{4}{14}

\frac{3}{14} * \frac{4}{14} *\frac{4}{14}  =  \frac{6}{343}

Given sin thata = 2/5 and 0° < thata < 90°. find sin 2 thata
Andrej [43]

Recall the double angle identity:

\sin2\theta=2\sin\theta\cos\theta

With \theta measuring between 0º and 90º, we know \cos\theta>0. So from the Pythagorean identity, we get

\sin^2\theta+\cos^2\theta=1\implies\cos\theta=\sqrt{1-\sin^2\theta}=\dfrac{\sqrt{21}}5

Then

\sin2\theta=2\dfrac25\dfrac{\sqrt{21}}5=\dfrac{4\sqrt{21}}{25}

Solve the following quadratic equation. Express your answers in exact form.
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

x = (2+√10)/ 3 and x= (2-√10/3)

Step-by-step explanation:

g(x) = -3x² +4x +2

use the quadratic formula x= (-b±√b²-4ac)/2a, when g(x) = ax² +bx +c

x= [-4 ±√4²-4*(-3)*2] / 2*(-3) , solve under the square root

x= (-4 ± √16 +24) / -6 , add under the radical

x= (-4 ±√40) / -6, simplify the square root

x= (-4 ±2√10) /-6, factor -2

x= -2 (2±√10)/-2 *3, simplify -2

x= (2±√10)/3

Therefore,

x = (2+√10)/ 3 and x= (2-√10/3)
