Given that:
3^2 \times 3^n = 3^20
Solving for n.
Divide both sides by 3²
\frac{3^2 \times 3^n}{3^2} = \frac{3^{20}}{3^2}
Simplify
3^n= 3^{20-2} \\
3^n=3^{18} \\
if \ a^{f(x)}=a^{g(x)} , \ then \ f(x)=g(x)
So, n=18

Answer: n=18
