Answer:

A loop of wire installed at an intersection can be used to trigger a traffic signal.

Explanation:

Electromagnetic induction has an application in the field of vehicle detection. It can be used to detect vehicles crossing a point, like a traffic signal. Detection is achieved by placing an electrically conducting well insulated loop at the required point.

Alternating currents of appropriate frequency are passed through the loop and the system becomes a tuned electrical circuit. Passage of a vehicle through the loop increases its inductance. This change is due to the ferrous components of the vehicle.

The vehicle being a metallic body causes eddy currents to develop within the loop. This brings a decrease in the inductance of the loop. Increase in inductance when compared with the decrease is visibly great.

This produces an overall decrease in inductance of the loop which reduces the impedance of the circuit to alternating current. This triggers the development of a pulse to traffic signal controller indicating the passage of a vehicle.

1. Define the following in the case of a concave mirror.
insens350 [35]

Answer:

Principal focus of a concave mirror. The principal focus of a concave mirror is a point on its principal axis to which all the light rays are parallel and close to the axis converge after reflection from the concave mirror.

Focal length of a concave mirror. The focal length of a concave mirror is the distance between its pole and the principal focus

The reflecting surface of a spherical mirror forms a part of a sphere. The centre of this sphere. This point is called the centre of curvature of the spherical mirror. Center of curvature can also be defined as the point in the centre of the sphere from which the mirror was sliced. It is represented by the letter C. Please note that the centre of curvature lies outside the mirror's reflecting surface. The centre of curvature of a concave mirror lies in front of it. However, it lies behind the mirror in case of a convex mirror.

If a concave mirror were thought of as being a slice of a sphere, then there would be a line passing through the center of the sphere and attaching to the mirror in the exact center of the mirror. This line is known as the principal axis.

1. how Orienteering is an ideal sport for the most promotion of
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

Because it comprises both physical and mental activities.

Explanation:

Orienteering is a sport that is known for its physical and mental activities. It is an ideal sport for the most promotion of physical activity and lifetime sports because it involves moving through the wild or difficult terrain. This takes energy to be competitive, and it also requires participants to take challenging decisions now and then.

People of different ages can participate and allows them to apply real-world decision-making skills to the competition. It also gives participants the chance to learn about themselves more and how to face different situations.

Letter C on the map labels which feature of the Middle East?
likoan [24]

Honest, the map is so tiny, and so fuzzy when I blow it up, I really can't see anything on it clearly. But I think maybe I do see a letter ' C ' in the eastern Mediterranean, with a curved line over to the southern Gaza strip, where it meets Sinai. So I'll say it's the Gaza Strip.
