Before the arrival of the Spanish, the Aztec Empire was the dominant economic and political force in South America.



The Empire has a complex government system, a sophisticated economy and a well developed social structure.


Many of the Aztecs were well-versed in developing large buildings, architecture, in agriculture, sports, mining and even astronomy. However, the technologically they were still far behind the Europeans.
