Answer:

Cost of one of Tanya's item = $9.00

Cost of one of Tony's item = $6.75

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X represent the cost of one of Tanya's item

Then Tanya bought 3 items. She paid M = 3*X

Tony bought 4 items. He paid M = 4 *(X - $2.25)

Both Tanya and Tony paid the same amount of money, then

3*X = 4 *(X - $2.25)

3X = 4X -$9.00

4X - 3X = $9.00

X = $9.00 Cost of one of Tanya's items

X-$2.25= $9.00 - $2.25 = $6.75 Cost of one of Tony's items.

Tanya paid 3*$9.00 = $27.00

Tony paid 4*$6.75 = $27.00

Both Tanys and Tony paid the same amount of money = $27

Tony's items would be x-2.25. So:
3x=4(x-2.25)
3x=4x-9
x=9
x-2.25=6.75
Tanya spent $9 on each item; Tony spent $6.75 on each of his items.

Hope this helps

A schools principal wants to determine which type of speaker the students prefer to invite to an assembly for the entire student
frosja888 [35]
For a survey like this, you want to take a random sample. It would be a good idea to use an alphabetical list of the students. Then, you could randomly select students from the list.

The principal would want to avoid surveying all the same type of students. For example, don't just ask the athletes.
