The American Federation of Labor, consisting of mostly craftsmen, was not so friendly to women and blacks. There was not so much room for department store workers and domestic servants, whom the Knights had organized. Skilled and well paid workers that were more interested in in winning a larger share in the corporate rewards constituted the American Federation of Labor. Knights on the other hand were of the opinion that ordinary people should have control over the enterprises in which they worked, and therefore recommended that shops owned by employees should be set up, thereby transforming America into a “cooperative commonwealth”. They called for the government to endorse more greenback dollars and increase the amount of money in circulation.

The accomplishments of the three labor organizations varied. The Greenback Party, active between 1874 and 1889, had candidates in three presidential elections but failed to win, and they declined when they failed to win any House seats in the election of 1884. The Knights of Labor became one of the largest labor organizations in the 1880’s, but charges of violence alleged links to Freemasonry caused their decline too. The American Federation of Labor is a story of success, politically and throughout the labor movement to this day.

Ber [7]

Answer:

Internal process

Explanation:

The ending of the Ming voyages a result of "internal processes."

The above statement is true because the Ming voyages which were stopped in 1433 were as a result of internal processes, some of which were:

1. Following the death of the Yongle Emperor, his son, Hongxi Emperor, was more of a Confucianist and considered the voyages unnecessary

2. The Ming voyages are considered to be costing the country China a lot of money. Hence they felt it needs to be stopped.

3. The need to secure their borders against the raiders from Mongols and the West.

What two things did former British prime minister Winston Churchill affirm in his Iron Curtain speech?
lora16 [44]

Answer:

The two things He did was he affirmed the building of iron curtain by soviet and that the Europe would be against it.

Explanation:

In his Iron Curtain speech, Winston Churchill affirmed his wish to side with the United States against the Soviet Union and his belief that only the United States possessed nuclear weapons.

Winston Churchill used the Iron Curtain expression to refer to the border, not only physical but also ideological, that divided Europe into two blocks after World War II. Churchill popularized the term at a conference in the United States in 1946, when he said:

"From Stettin, in the Baltic, to Trieste, in the Adriatic, an Iron Curtain has fallen on the continent"

The frontier of which Churchill spoke divided the socialist states, headed politically, economically and militarily by the Soviet Union, and the capitalist states, aligned with the United States.

Which Eastern European country resisted Soviet control despite being a communist
nation?
Ivan

East Germany, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Yugoslavia resisted Soviet control despite being a communist nation

Explanation:

 • Khrushchev's policy of "coexistence" with the West did not mean that he was willing to recognize the peace settlement in Germany.
 • he was determined to change it in favor of the Soviet Union and its East German satellite
 • The Western powers refused the plan because the abolition of the U.S. "nuclear umbrella" would not leave NATO forces.
 • both the Soviet and East German governments still continued to achieve the goal of a united, Germany under communist control.
 • there was also a significant increase in academic and cultural contacts with the West.
