Lactic acid fermentation can be modeled by the following equation: Pyruvic acid + NADH → Lactic acid + NAD+
LACTIC ACID FERMENTATION:
- Fermentation is a process undergone by some anaerobic organisms. Ideally, the process of cellular respiration proceeds as follows in the presence of oxygen: Glycolysis- Kreb cycle - ETC.
- However, in the absence of oxygen (anaerobic condition), the product of glycolysis which is pyruvic acid combines with an electron carrier (NADH) to give rise to lactic acid and NAD+.
- This means that pyruvic acid is reduced while NADH is oxidized as modelled in the following equation:
- Pyruvic acid + NADH → Lactic acid + NAD+

As the number of organisms increase so does their tropic levels. As one organism eats the other energy is being transferred to that organism. The larger the food chain the lesser the organism' s would be because they would lose energy while trying to hunt and catch their prey and other activities. The food chain usually ends at the tertiary consumer or the fourth link because if it goes on like that there would be less energy hence these organisms would most likely starve and gradually die.
This works because the white pain acts as a barrier, therefor the sunlight a bounces off the glass instead of just going through.
