Hello!

To get this into scientific notation, we must get a number between 0 and 10 multiplied by 10^x.

Since we have 10^12 we can just worry about 8.8(8). This gives us 70.4. 70.4(10^12) is not in scientific notation. To get 70.4 into scientific, we divide by 10. If we divide by 10, we have to add another power to the exponent to show that we can get it back up to 70.4 .

The answer is 70.4(10^13).

Hope this helped!

You knew where to place the target based on the coordinates (-5,4). Starting from the origin (0,0), we know how many units to move to horizontally and vertically. We move the target 5 units to the left, because it is negative. We move the target 4 units up, because it is positive. (x,y)

A rectangle has a perimeter of 30 feet and an area of 50 square feet. What are the dimensions of the rectangle.
KiRa [710]

I believe the shorter sides are 5 feet and the longer ones are 10. This is because when you add up the two shorter sides as 10, and the other two as 20, then add them up to 30. That's the perimeter. For the area, you would do 10•5 to get 50 for the area
