Biodiversity, or biological diversity, takes into account all the different types of life on Earth and the environments they inh

abit. Many human activities have contributed to the decline of biodiversity and continue to threaten biodiversity. By studying biodiversity at multiple levels, biologists hope to determine how best to slow the extinction rate (the rate at which species disappear) and preserve biodiversity.
Biodiversity can be studied at three levels: genetic diversity, species diversity, and ecosystem diversity.
1. The number of habitat types _______ when ecosystem diversity increases
2. Low genetic diversity within a species ________ the likelihood that the species may go extinct.
3. A human activity such as draining a wetland ________ ecosystem diversity
4. Extinction ________ species diversity.
5. High genetic diversity within a species _______ the likelihood that the species can adapt to new environmental conditions.

Please answer the fill in the blank space with either "increaeses, decreases, or has no effect on" for all five sentences above inside the picture. You can number your answer with the corresponding sentences above.

⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠⚠One fossil is found in a deeper layer of rock than another one. How is this evidence of change over time of living things
Mademuasel [1]
Some of the evidence comes from fossils, and some comes from studies that show how similar living things are to one another. By the 1930s, scientists had also learned about genes. As a result, they could finally explain how characteristics of organisms could pass from one generation to the next and change over time
