1/ 2Times 2 times 3 = 1/12
5.3 Times 3 = 15.9
So 1/12 + 15.9 = .083 + 15.9
.083 + 15.9 = 15.983
Is 5.3 being raised to the 3rd power here? If so I need to know so that I can help you.

4 (2x-6)=10x-6. solve for x
Reika [66]

Rearrange the equation by subtracting what is to the right of the equal sign from both sides of the equation :

   4*(2*x-6)-(10*x-6)=0

   2x - 6  =   2 • (x - 3)

   8 • (x - 3) - (10x - 6) = 0

   -2x - 18  =   -2 • (x + 9)

 -2 • (x + 9) = 0

Solve :    -2   =  0

Write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to y=3x-2 that passes trough the point (-9,5)
ElenaW [278]

\huge\boxed{y-5&=-\frac{1}{3}(x+9)}

First, we'll find the slope of the new line. The first line has a slope of 3. Take the negative reciprocal of this (Flip the numerator and denominator, then multiply by -1) to get -\frac{1}{3} for the new slope.

Then, we'll use the point-slope form to make the new equation, where m is the slope and (x_1,y_1) is a point on the line:

\begin{aligned}y-y_1&=m(x-x_1)\\y-5&=-\frac{1}{3}(x-(-9))\\y-5&=-\frac{1}{3}(x+9)\end{aligned}
