sheilas cell phone plan consists of a monthly rate and a fee for each minute she talks over 500 minutes per month. Her july bill

showed 630 minutes and a total charge of $53.55. Her august bill showed 709 minutes of use and a total charge of $63.03. what is the monthly rate and how much is she being charged for her extra minutes?

First of all we need to formulate two equations.

x = monthly fee per minute
y = monthly fee per minute over 500

500x + 130y = $53.55
500x + 209y = $63.03

Since we know that 500x = $53.55 - 130y we can substitute.

($53.55 - 130y) + 209y = $63.03
79y = 9.48
y = $0.12

Now we can substitute y into the other equation.

500x = $53.55 - 130(0.12)
500x = $53.55 - $15.6
500x = $37.95

So the answer is $37.95 monthly for 500 minutes with an over quota fee of $0.12 per minute.

Another way to do it is
2x-y=17
x-y=10, x=10+y
substitute x=10+y for x in 2x-y=17 and get
2(10+y)-y=17
20+2y-y=17
20+y=17
subtract 20 from both sides
y=-3
subsitute y=-3 into equation x-y=10
x-(-3)=10
x+3=10
subtract 3 from both sides
x=7
 or subsitute into 2x-y=17
2x-(-3)=17
2x+3=17
subtract 3 from both sides
2x=14
divide both sides by two
x=7

The Rate of change is a little right triangle that is drawn from to to three parallel to the x axis and from about 45 to 60 on the y axis.
The square brackets means the the endpoints are included.
So the rate of change is \frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x} =  \frac{60-45}{3 - 2} = \text{15}

\text{rate of change = }  \frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x} =  \frac{35 - 20}{3 - 2} = 15

This is very hard to call. There are two the same (two of them being g and h) It's a graph and so it is nearly impossible to differentiate. I would say the statement is false but be prepared to get it wrong. Draw g and h for yourself and see what you think. If you get the two of them different, go with your answer.

Another tough one to call. f and g cross at four. It is true f and h. The value of f(4) > h(4). Again, if you do this and disagree, then go with your answer. Mine is false.

It is very difficult to reproduce this graph on desmos so that you get a clear cut answer from the graph. I cheated and used a calculator. f(x) is over 6000 and h(x) = 168. This statement is also not true.

D
Here again this is false. g's rate of change is a constant. Eventually f will have the same slope as bitcoin's value which is in the range of about 6000. So this statement is false as well.

E
See the comment about F in the answer for D. This statement is true.

This is definitely a true statement.
