First derivative  is  2 pi tan(pi x) sec^2 (pi x)

second derivative  looks really messy!

using the Product rule :-

=  2 pi tan(pi x) * 2pi tan (pi x) sec^2 (pix)+sec^2(pi x) *  2 pi^2 sec*2 ( pi x)

=  4 pi^2 tan^2 (pi x) sec^2 (pi x) + 2 pi^2 sec^4 (pi x)

=   2 pi^2 sec^2 (pi x) [ 2 tan^2 (pi x) + sec^2(pi x)]

Phew!

let y = sec^2 ( pi x )

y' = 2 sec ( pi x ) sec( pi x ) tan ( pi x ) pi

y' = 2pi sec^2 ( pi x ) tan ( pi x )

y''= 2pi sec^2 ( pi x ) * sec^2 ( pi x ) * pi + 2pi tan ( pi x ) * 2pi sec^2 ( pi x ) tan ( pi x )

y'' = 2 pi^2 sec^4 ( pi x ) + 4 pi^2 sec^2 ( pi x ) tan^2 ( pi x )

A company that produces computers recently tested the battery in its latest laptop in six separate trials. The battery lasted 8.
Anna35 [415]

confidence interval for the mean battery life in the new model is [7.9489, 8.3045].

What is confidence interval ?

A confidence interval, in statistics, refers to the chance that a population parameter can fall between a collection of values for an exact proportion of times.

Main body:

Formula for confidence interval is =

CI = x- bar ± z*s/√n            where,

CI = confidence interval

x- bar = sample mean

z = confidence level value

{s} = sample standard deviation

{n} = sample size

given ;

n = 6

mean = (8.23+7.89+8.14+8.25+8.30+ 7.95)/6

         =  8.127

value of z for 95% C.I. = 1.96

C.I. = 8.127 ± 1.96 * 0.22/√6

C.I. = 8.127 ± 0.1781

C.I. =[7.9490, 8.3044]

Hence correct option is A.

Complete the statement below to explain how this model shows that 1/3÷1/5=5/3
Galina-37 [17]
To divide by a fraction, multiply by the reciprocal of that fraction.

1/3 • 5/1 or 1/3 • 5

Calculate the product straight across.

1/3 • 5/1 = 5/3

How do you do Pythagorean theorem
ser-zykov [4K]
Pythagorean theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2
2. You are trying to find x which is c^2
so plug in the other numbers to the other letters. 9^2 + 17^2 = c^2
9^2= 81. 17^2= 289
81 + 289 = 370
370= c^2
Now all you have to do is square root the number
*square root sign* 370
19.24
c = 19.24
So, x = 19.24
