WARRIOR [948]

Let us start with something we know is true.

5 > 3

That reads as 5 is greater than 3. Anyone will tell you that that is a true statement.

But what happens when you multiply this result by - 10

5 * -10 > 3 * - 10

- 50 >  -  30 is that true? If you are not sure, think it terms of money. Which would you rather be

owing 50 dollars to some or owing 30 dollars to someone? Of course if you are careful with money you would likely say neither. But this is math so you have to choose.

You likely would have to say you would want to owe 30 dollars. That makes  - 30 larger than - 50. So a true statement has now become a false one. Check with me if you don't understand. I'd like to know if you accept my explanation.

All you do is divide 96 divided by 6. That is your equation. Then when you divide it, you find that he will put 16 on each shelf. All of the shelves will have the same number of books. The next one all you do is add all of them up and it will equal 43. So he has 43 dvd in total. Now if he wants to only keep eight of the dvds you subtract eight from 43. That equals 35. Now all you do is divide that by 5 to see how many he will give each friend. Once you're finished with that you find that he will give 7 to each friend.
So, the answers to each problem are 16 with the equation using distributive property 2(44 + 2) divided by 6 and 7.
I hope this helps:) Please give brainliest:)

If the sign looks like > or <, it excludes the number, if there is a line under the < or >, it is inclusive, which means at least, or at most. To display inclusive draw a circle on the point and fill it in, for exclusive, draw a circle and don't fill it in.
