Answer: 7/4 is greater

Step-by-step explanation: If you divide 7 by 4 you get 1.75. Then you divide 5 by 4 and you get 1.25. 1.75 is greater than 1.25. Also, if they have the same denominator, whichever has a higher numerator would be greater.

First off, 7/4 has more 4ths than 5/4 so that is greater, but second, you can convert the numbers into decimals, I can't remember how but by doing that you can have an easier way to compare them.

Hope this helps, if not, comment below please!!!!

2. Suppose there are 50 cats in a neighborhood. The ratio of cats to dogs is 2/1 . many dogs are in the neighborhood? (4 points)
Rus_ich [418]
Answer: 25 Dogs

Reason: If the ratio of cats to dogs is 2/1, there are 2 cats for every 1 dog. That would mean that the number of cats is double the number of dogs. 25 x 2 = 50

6. The revenue function for a production by a theatre group is
Sidana [21]

Answer:

When the ticket price is $3 or $4 the production will be in break even

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The correct question is</em></u>

The revenue function for a production by a theatre group is R(t) = -50t^2 + 300t where t is the ticket price in dollars. The cost function for the production is C(t) = 600-50t. Determine the ticket price that will allow the production to break even

we know that

Break even is when the profit is equal to zero

That means

The cost is equal to the revenue

we have

R(t)=-50t^2+300t

C(x)=600-50t

Equate the cost and the revenue

-50t^2+300t=600-50t

solve for t

-50t^2+300t+50t-600=0

-50t^2+350t-600=0

Solve the quadratic equation by graphing

using a graphing tool

the solution is t=3 and t=4

see the attached figure

therefore

When the ticket price is $3 or $4 the production will be in break even

How do you know whether to quanities x and y are proportional
Musya8 [376]

Ratios are proportional if they represent the same relationship. One way to see if two ratios are proportional is to write them as fractions and then reduce them. If the reduced fractions are the same, your ratios are proportional.
