You use the order of operations which is otherwise known as PEMDAS.To simplify 15×2+5×2+2 you first do the multiplication. 30 10 Then you do the addition after 30+10+2 Bring down the 2 =42. Finally add everything which would give you the answer 42

Answer:

2y²   +   9

---------------

      15y³

Step-by-step explanation:

Start by identifying the LCD, and then change each fraction so that its denominator is the LCD.

Here the LCD is 15y³, which is evenly divisible by 15y and 5y³.

Focus now on the first fraction: 2 / (15y). Multiplying numerator and denominator of this fraction by y² results in

y²·2          2y²

--------- → ----------

y²·15y       15y³           ←This is the correct LCD

Multiplying numerator and denominator of the second fraction by 3 results in:

   3·3            9

------------ → ---------

3·5y³         15y³          ←This is the correct LCD

So now those two original terms look like:

2y²         9

--------- + --------

15y³       15y³

and this can be written in simpler form as:

2y²   +   9

---------------

      15y³

  • Distance Formula: d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define

Boat A(3.1, -1)

Boat B(-4.1, -1)

Step 2: Find distance d

Simply plug in the 2 coordinates into the distance formula to find distance d.

  1. Substitute [DF]:                    d = \sqrt{(-4.1-3.1)^2+(-1+1)^2}
  2. Subtract/Add:                       d = \sqrt{(-7.2)^2+(0)^2}
  3. Exponents:                           d = \sqrt{51.84}
  4. Evaluate:                              d = 7.2
