The Baker v. Carr case placed the one man, one vote principle. The United States Supreme Court heard the Baker v. Carr case in 1962. Before this Supreme Court verdict, most legislative districts across Ohio and in many other states did not have related population numbers. Supreme Court case concluded that redistricting concerns present justifiable issues, thus allowing federal courts to interrupt in and to resolve redistricting cases.
