To answer 5309 divided by 43 what you have to do is a division house and once you multiply to a certain number you have to add a zero but when you add that zero you have to put a decimal point. Make sure you are seeing 43 times what equals 53 remember to bring down the number. A reason how I remember how to divide is dad divides, mom multiples, sister subtracts, brother brings down river repeats. Hope I can help

If 5a=-4b+5 and 3a=-2b+3, what is 6b?
Misha Larkins [42]
There are two equations and two variables. You can solve for each variable using either the elimination method or the substitution method. Here, I believe the elimination method would be best:
5a = -4b + 5
3a = -2b + 3
You can multiply the second equation by two, so the 4b and -4b in both equations will cancel each other out when you add them. So:
5a = -4b +5
6a = 4b +6
Add both equations together.
11a = 11
a = 1
Plug in the a value into any of the previous equations:
5(1) = -4b + 5
-4b = 0
b = 0
So, since we know that b = 0, 6b is also 0.

You roll a number cube once.<br> what is the theoretical probability that you roll a 3 or 4?
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

2/6 or 1/3

Each number has 1 /6 probability. But since you can accept either 3 or 4, the probability is better and is 2/6 or simplified to 1/3.

A small radio transmitter broadcasts in a 53 mile radius. If you drive along a straight line from a city 70 miles north of the t
son4ous [18]

Answer:

29% of the drive

Step-by-step explanation:

The plot of the problem is:

Transmitter at origin (0,0)

City to the north at (0,70)

City to the east at (74,0)

The path from city to city is a line with slope:

m = (-70)/74 = -35/37

and y-intercept at y = 70, so the equation is y = (-35/37)*x + 70.

The transmitter reach the area enclosed by the next circle:

x^2 + y^2 = 53^2

See the picture attached

The intersection is gotten from the picture or solving:

x^2 + [(-35/37)*x + 70]^2 = 53^2

the points approximately are: (24.1, 47.2) and (45.8, 26.7)

From Pythagorean theorem the total distance of the trip is:

d1 = √(70^2 + 74^2) ≈ 101.9 miles

And the distance when the signal is picked up is:

d2 =√ [(45.8 - 24.1)^2 + (47.2 - 26.7)^2] ≈ 29.9 miles

You will pick up a signal from the transmitter in (d2/d1)*100 = 29% of the drive.
