Find the scale factor where the pre-image is the small triangle and the image is the large triangle.
allsm [11]

Scale factor is the ratio of two corresponding sides.

Here we have two triangles, where the preimage is the smaller triangle and the image is the larger triangle.

So scale factor =14/18 = 7/9

And to find the missing variable, we need to set the ratio.

7/9 = 28/x

Cross multiplying both sides

7x = 28*9

x = 36

How would I find the answer for 4 and 5? Brainiest answer for the most help
tankabanditka [31]

for number 5, you take the area of the area of the fountain, which is pi * radius squared. this is equivalent to 3.14 * 4^2. then to simplify I made it 3.14 times 16 and then got the answer of 50.24. Then you take the area of the fountain plus the path, which makes the diameter 9.5 divide that by 2 to get the radius, which is 4.75. pi * 4.75^2 is about 70.85. then you subtract the two(70.85-50.24) to get 20.61. since its 10 dollars per square meter, you multiply 20.61 by 10 to get 206.10 dollars. That is your answer.

(3a3 − 5b3) + _____ a3 + _____b3 = (a3 + b3).
Harlamova29_29 [7]
3a^3-5b^3+xa^3+yb^3=1a^3+1b^3
replace a^3 with z
replace b^3 with v (to make it easier to see)
3z-5v+xz+yv=z+v
3z+xz+yv-5v=1z+v

the terms match them
3z+xz=1z
divide both sides by z
3+x=1
minus 3
x=-2

yv-5v=1v
dividie both sides by v
y-5=1
addd 5 to both sides
y=6

(3a^3-5b^3)+ -2 a^3 +6 b^3=(a^3+b^3)
