One such situation in which compulsion might be implicit is if someone is in need or rescuing, since although they could be "forced" to be rescued, it can be assumed that they would want to be rescued anyway.

A compulsion refers to a "forced obligation." This means that a person has the duty or responsibility to act a certain way regardless of whether they want to do so or not. Moreover, implicit refers to a situation that is understood, but might not be expressed. An example of this is the responsibility to rescue someone who is in danger. Although neither party can express their preference, there is an implicit agreement that corresponds to the responsibilities of the rescuer.

<span>The use of allusion in the title and epigraph of Nectar in a Sieve helps to emphasize the novel’s themes of loss and hope

Nectar in a Sieve alludes to the slow drain of the life force of an individual here on earth. The nectar represents live and the sieve, since it is a sifter/filter, slowly drains the nectar until it falls to the ground and become useless.
