The general equation we use when dealing with distance, speed and time is:
Distance = Speed × Time
And this equation can be rearranged: s=d÷t, t=d÷s
So to find the distance in hours, you must multiply the speed (400mph) by the time (h).
Thus, the answer is D. 400×h

Hello!

To calculate the distance, you use the formula d=rt. As you can see, the only option of yours that multiplied the rate and time is C.

Therefore, our answer is C) d=400xh

I hope this helps!

A family plan for a cell phone has a monthly base price of $75 plus $10.99 for each additional family member added beyond the pr
uranmaximum [27]

The linear equation that models the cost for having x additional family members added is:

c(x) = $75 + $10.99*x

How to get the linear equation?

Here we know that the plan has a fixed price of $75 plus $10.99 for each family member added beyond the primary account holder.

Then if there are x family members added, the cost will be:

$75 + $10.99*x

Then the linear equation that models the cost for having x additional family members added is:

c(x) = $75 + $10.99*x

Hello there!

Can I get someone help please ? Thanks!
natulia [17]
Since they are right triangles use Pythagorean Theorem.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2 where c is the hypotenuse.

a.  12^2 + b^2 = 13^2
144 + b^2 = 169
subtract 144 from both sides
b^2 = 25
take the square root of both sides
t = 5  This is also know as a Pythagorean Triple 5-12-13

b.  a^2 + 9^2 = 12^2
     a^2 + 81 = 144
subtract 81 from both sides
a^2 = 63
take the square root of both sides
a = √63
a = √(9 * 7)
a = 3√7

c.   6^2 + 9^2 = c^2
    36 + 81 = c^2
117 = c^2
take the square root of each side
c = √117
c = √(9*13)
x = 3√13

What's the equation of the line perpendicular to y=-3/2x+4 through the point ( 2,-3)
Korvikt [17]
Because it's perpendicular, you know that they must have the same slope, -3/2. So, just factor that and the point into the slope-point form to get

y = -3/2x
