is translated "the center of the city of Rome" or "the navel of Rome".
At any rate, it was the spot from which all distances, from all over the

I find a childlike wonder expressed in this surreal nighttime scene. The stars exaggerated and dancing across the night sky canvas. Though I think there may be intent by the artist to show the child's imagination of the night sky here, which is a fascinating idea in itself, it could also be a less conscious attempt by the artist to to suggest to us 'adults’ that we don't really know much about what we perceive in this world and are
