Answer:

Correct choice is A

Step-by-step explanation:

Variable x represents the number of letters in the name and variable y represents the length of a name on a nameplate. The function

y=1.47x+2.05

determines the relationship between x and y.

When the nameplate is 6 inches long, then y=6 and you can find x:

6=1.47x+2.05,\\ \\1.47x=6-2.05,\\ \\1.47x=3.95,\\ \\x\approx 2.69.

Since the number of letters that a name contains should be a whole number, then

x\approx 3\ letters.

. Tommy gives baseball cards to four of his friends. He gives Kiana 3 cards less than he gives Gary.
Licemer1 [7]
We need to write system of equations for this problem. Reading text we write 1 equation by 1.
first lets name our variables
x - Kiana cards
y - Gary cards
z - Monty cards
m - Willa cards

x = y-3         which we can write as y = x+3
z = x + 7
m = 2z
x + y + z + m = 74

I think easiest way to solve this is to express all variables in last equation and solve for x.
x + x+3 + x + 7+ 2x + 14= 74
5x = 50
x = 10
now we just calculate cards given to each friend

y = 13
z = 17
m = 34

Solve the system of equations.
-10x+3y=5
x=y-4
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

x=y-4                                          -10x+3y=5

y=x+4                                     y=10/3x+5/3

        x+4  =10/3x+5/3

x=1

y=1+4                                      y=10/3(1)+5/3

y=5                                                    y=5

so

x=1

y=5

(1,5)

Uzanne can work 10 math problems in 15 minutes. How many can she work in an hour and a half?
jeyben [28]
1 and half hour
= 60 minutes+ 30 minutes
= 90 minutes

Now,

Uzanne need 15 minutes to do 10 problems
Uzanne need 1 minute to complete 10/15 problems

Uzanne need 90 minutes to do
= (10/15)*90
=(2/3)*90
=2*30
=60 problems
