b. Which of the following technologies would best help a farmer who wants to increase the crop production in his farm?

Genetic engineering, because it helps increase the diversity of crops by making them stronger

Explanation:

Genetic engineering is a scientific and technological process whereby the genetic material ( genes or DNA) of a living organism such as plants or animal are modified.

Some advantages of genetic engineering includes:

a. For a farmer, genetic engineering can be used in modifying the seed of the crops he wants to plant such that the resulting crops would contain more nutrients, it could give the crop a more attractive colour or make it more stronger thereby causing the crops to be more diverse.

b. Genetic engineering allows for the abundance of foods and it prevents food scarcity.

One of the disadvantages of genetic engineering is that, the modification of the DNA of plants and animals could result in genetic mutations in these plants and animals and when they are consumed by human beings, it could also caused genetic mutations in the human body which can be very harmful. Some of these mutations are cancer, uneven growth of some essential organs in the body e.t.c.
