Let the speed of the slower bus be equal to x km/h
let the speed of the faster bus be equal to x+16 km/h
in one hour they are a further 2x+16 km apart
therefore after 5 hours they are 5(2x+16) = 10x + 80 km apart
10x + 80 = 880 km
10x = 800km
x = 80
x + 16 = 96
therefore, the speed of the slower bus is 80 km/h whereas the speed of the second bus is 96 km/h

-Dominant- [34]

Using the t-distribution, it is found that since the <u>test statistic is greater than the critical value for the right-tailed test</u>, it is found that there is enough evidence to conclude that Battery B outlasts Battery A by more than 2 hours.

At the null hypothesis, it is <u>tested if it does not outlast by more than 2 hours</u>, that is, the subtraction is not more than 2:

H_0: \mu_B - mu_A \leq 2

At the alternative hypothesis, it is <u>tested if it outlasts by more than 2 hours</u>, that is:

H_1: \mu_B - \mu_A > 2

  • The sample means are: \mu_A = 8.65, \mu_B = 11.23
  • The standard deviations for the samples are s_A = s_B = 0.67

Hence, the standard errors are:

s_{Ea} = S_{Eb} = \frac{0.67}{\sqrt{12}} = 0.1934

The distribution of the difference has <u>mean and standard deviation</u> given by:

\overline{x} = \mu_B - \mu_A = 11.23 - 8.65 = 2.58

s = \sqrt{s_{Ea}^2 + s_{Eb}^2} = \sqrt{0.1934^2 + 0.1934^2} = 0.2735

The test statistic is given by:

t = \frac{\overline{x} - \mu}{s}

In which \mu = 2 is the value tested at the hypothesis.

Hence:

t = \frac{\overline{x} - \mu}{s}

t = \frac{2.58 - 2}{0.2735}

t = 2.12

The critical value for a <u>right-tailed test</u>, as we are testing if the subtraction is greater than a value, with a <u>0.05 significance level</u> and 12 + 12 - 2 = <u>22 df</u> is given by t^{\ast} = 1.71

Since the <u>test statistic is greater than the critical value for the right-tailed test</u>, it is found that there is enough evidence to conclude that Battery B outlasts Battery A by more than 2 hours.

The toy shop stocks tricycles and go-carts.
Mandarinka [93]

Total number of wheels in the toy shop = 37 wheels

Number of wheels for tricycles = 3

Number of wheels for go-carts = 5

  • Since the total number of tricycles and go-carts are not given, we solve this question using Assumption.

  • Let's assume: We have 4 tricycles and 4 go-carts

(4 x 3) + (4 x 5)

= 12 + 20

= 32 wheels. This assumption is wrong.

  • Let's assume: We have 4 tricycles and 5 go-carts

(4 x 3) + (5 x 5)

= 12 + 25

= 37 wheels. This assumption is correct.

Therefore, we have  4 tricycles and 5 go-carts in the toy shop.

Joey earns $12 an hour. Blake earns $16 per hour. Joey receives a raise of $1.50 every six months, and Blake receives a raise of
tino4ka555 [31]

*12 + 1.5x = 16 + 0.50x*

That's the answer, since I'm late.

This is correct because when setting up this sentence as an equation, you need to look at the numbers and how they're used. There are independents and dependents.

indep.:

12,16

dep.:

1.50,0.50

Furthermore, there are 1 of each on both sides of the equation, match them from the equation by name and you get the answer.

Answer:

-25

Step-by-step explanation:

f(-12) means x = -12

so you just plug it in the equation and solve for x

f(x) = 3(-12)+11\\f(x) = -36+11\\f(x) = -25
