Let the time = x
Let the distance yet to run = y

The first question you have to answer is how many miles has she run in time x?
So far what she has run is (1/12)x

So the distance she has run is 3 -  (1/12)*x and that = y
3 - (1/12)x = y <<<<<< answer

Marat540 [252]

Line segment XY begins at (-6,4) and ends at (-2,4); XY is reflected over the x-axis and translated left 3 units to form line segment X'Y' which has a length of 4 units.

<h3>What is a system of equations?</h3>

A system of equations is two or more equations that can be solved to get a unique solution. the power of the equation must be in one degree.

Line segment XY begins at (-6,4) and ends at (-2,4). Hence:

XY = \sqrt{(4-4)^2 + (-2 +6)^2} \\\\XY = \sqrt{0+16} \\\\XY = \sqrt{16} \\\\XY = 4

XY is reflected over the x-axis and translated left 3 units to form line segment X'Y'. Hence:

XY = X'Y' = 4 units

Line segment XY begins at (-6,4) and ends at (-2,4); XY is reflected over the x-axis and translated left 3 units to form line segment X'Y' which has a length of 4 units.

Answer:

  • surface area: 456 cm²
  • volume: 408 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

The surface area of the figure is the total of the areas of the two triangular bases and the three rectangular faces.

  SA = 2(1/2)(8 cm)(6 cm) + (17 cm)(6 cm + 8 cm  + 10 cm)

  = 48 cm² + 408 cm²

  SA = 456 cm²

__

The volume is the product of the area of the triangular base and the length of the prism.

  V = (1/2)(8 cm)(6 cm)×(17 cm) = (24 cm²)(17 cm)

  V = 408 cm³
