Chromium is a transition metal and it has 24 electrons and here is the orbital diagram. If we're going to make this short hand and make the electron configurationfor this we would make this 1s2, 2s2, 2p6, 3s2, 3p6, 4s2, 3d4 okay from now on every time you see 3d4 you're going to change it, we do not like 3d4.

If you mean the electron configuration for Chromium, then the answer would be 2-8-13-1. It has 4 shells due to it being in period 4 of the periodic table.

Determining Density and Using Density to Determine Volume or Mass
Shalnov [3]

corrected question:

Determining Density and Using Density to Determine Volume or Mass

(a) Calculate the density of mercury if 1.00 × 10 g occupies a volume of 7.36 cm³

(b) Calculate the volume of 65.0 g of liquid methanol (wood alcohol) if its density is 0.791 g/mL.

(c) What is the mass in grams of a cube of gold (density = 19.32 g/cm) if the length of the cube is 2.00 cm?

(d) Calculate the density of a 374.5-g sample of copper if it has a volume of 41.8 cm³ A student needs 15.0 g of ethanol for an experiment. If the density of ethanol is 0.789 g/mL, how many milliliters of ethanol are needed? What is the mass, in grams, of 25.0 mL of mercury (density = 13.6 g/mL)?

Answer:

density = \frac{mass}{volume}

ρ=m/v ,m=ρv,    v=m/ρ

(a)m=1*10g  , v=7.36cm³

    ρ=10/7.36 =1.36g/cm³

(b) m=65g, ρ=0.791 g/mL.

   v= 65/0.791 =82.17g/mL

(c) ρ=19.32g/cm³, l=2cm, v=l³=8cm³

    m=19..32*8=154.56g/cm³

(d) mass of copper=374.5g , v=41.8cm³

   ρ=374.5/41.8 =8.96g/cm³

mass of ethanol=15g, density of ethanol=0.789g/mL

v=15/0.789 =19.01mL

volume of mecury=25mL, density of mercury=13.6g/mL

m=25*13.6=340g

Draw a mechanism for the reaction of water with formic acid. In the box to the left, draw any necessary curved arrows. Show the
dsp73

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

When water reacts with formic acid, The following equilibrium is set up;

HCOOH(aq) + H20(l) ⇄ HCOO-(aq) + H30+(aq)

This is because, the water abstracts a proton from formic acid to form its conjugate base, formate ion.

At equilibrium, the forward is favored.

How many grams of HF are needed to react with 3.0 moles of Sn?
Flauer [41]

Answer:

120g

Explanation:

Step 1:

We'll begin by writing the balanced equation for the reaction.

Sn + 2HF —> SnF2 + H2

Step 2:

Determination of the number of mole HF needed to react with 3 moles of Sn.

From the balanced equation above,

1 mole of Sn and reacted with 2 moles of HF.

Therefore, 3 moles Sn will react with = 3 x 2 = 6 moles of HF.

Step 3:

Conversion of 6 moles of HF to grams.

Number of mole HF = 6 moles

Molar Mass of HF = 1 + 19 = 20g/mol

Mass of HF =..?

Mass = number of mole x molar Mass

Mass of HF = 6 x 20

Mass of HF = 120g

Therefore, 120g of HF is needed to react with 3 moles of Sn.
