The Vikings believed that one day the world we know would come to an end. They called this Ragnarok. It is not only the end of mankind, but the end of Gods and Goddesses. It will be the final battle between Aesir and the Giants that will take place on the plains called Vigrid. The meaning of the word Vigrid is "battle-surge" or "place on which the battle surges."
