First you find like terms: The like terms in this equation would be -4x and -3x. Another set of like terms would be -7 and 4. So first what you do is add -4x and -3x to get -7x. Then you add -7 with 4 which is -3. So now write the equation as -7x -3 = 25. now Add 3 to both sides. so now the equation looks like -7x = 28 now divide -7 on both sides. SO now your final answer should be x = -4

In a circle with center P and radius 10cm. If one of the chord is of length 12 cm.
juin [17]

Look at the attachment

The line bisects the cord which we have to find

  • Length of chord=12cm
  • Half of the cord=12/2=6cm
  • Radius=10cm

Its a right angle triangle

  • using Pythagorean theorem

\boxed{\sf P^2=H^2-B^2}

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=\sqrt{H^2-B^2}

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=\sqrt{10^2-6^2}

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=\sqrt{100-36}

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=\sqrt{64}

\\ \Large\sf\longmapsto P=8cm

Distance of the chord from centre is 8cm.
