Supplementary means that the angles add to 180, so solve the equation 6x+60+90=180. 6x=30 x=5

Supplementary angles add up to 180, so
6x+60+90 = 180 and solve for x
6x= 30
x=5

The functions g and h are given by g(x) = x + 1 and h(x) = x²
Delvig [45]

Answer:

x = - \frac{3}{2} , x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

To find h(g(x)) substitute x = g(x) into h(x) , that is

h(g(x))

= h(x + 1)

= (x + 1)²

= x² + 2x + 1

For h(g(x)) = 3x² + x - 5 , then

3x² + x - 5 = x² + 2x + 1 ← subtract x² + 2x + 1 from both sides

2x² - x - 6 = 0 ← in standard form

(2x + 3)(x - 2) = 0 ← in factored form

Equate each factor to zero and solve for x

2x + 3 = 0 ⇒ 2x = - 3 ⇒ x = - \frac{3}{2}

x - 2 = 0 ⇒ x = 2

Solve using substitution method x-y=11;3x+10y=-6<br> explain please
Tatiana [17]
Ok so for starters you want to choose an equation and solve for a variable.
So, I am going to choose x from the first equation.
Add y to both sides and you get x=11+y
Next, substitute 11+y for x in the other equation so you get...
2(11+y) +10y=-6
Next distribute the 2 throug the 11 and the y
22+2y+10y=-6
12y=-28
y=-28/12
reduce this fraction to make this easier.
y=-7/3
Now plug in why to either of the equations to find x
x-(-7/3)=11
x+7/3=11
x=11-(7/3)
x=(33/3)-(7/3)
x=26/3
so x = 26/3 and y = -7/3
you can also check to see if this is correct by substituting each of these values into the equations.

irina [24]

Answer:

1. -10x^2-x+6-10x 2-x+6 = -10x^2 - 22x + 12

2. 10x^2-510x 2-5 = 10x^2 - 1020x - 5
