The emancipation of women, female emancipation, female liberation or liberation of women is a concept of historiography, sociology, anthropology and other social sciences. Which refers to the historical process by which women have claimed and achieved, in many cases, the legal, political, professional, social, family and personal equality traditionally denied them. That is to say, female emancipation is the story of how women freed themselves from a large part of the oppression that patriarchy exercised over them because of their status as women.
