Answer:

A f(x) is a negative number

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets see what happens

f(x) = 1/x

Let x get smaller and smaller from the negative side

x = -1/2

f(-1/2) = 1/ (-1/2) = -2

x = -1/3

f(-1/3) = 1/ (-1/3) = -3

x = -1/10

f(-1/10) = 1/-1/10 = -10

What is happening

As we get closer to zero from the negative side, f(x) gets  larger and more negative

In a certain deck of cards, each card has a positive integer written on it. In a multiplication game, a child draws a card and m
ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

  4 and 13

Step-by-step explanation:

You want integer solutions to ...

  15 ≤ n(n+1) ≤ 200

If we let the limits be represented by "a", then the equality is represented by ...

  n² +n -a = 0

  (n² +n +1/4) -a -1/4 = 0

  (n +1/2)^2 = (a +1/4)

  n = -1/2 + √(a +1/4)

For a=15, we have

  n ≥ -1/2 + √15.25 ≈ 3.4 . . . . . minimum n is 4

For a=200, we have

  n ≤ -1/2 + √200.25 ≈ 13.7 . . . maximum n is 13

The least and greatest integers on the cards are 4 and 13.

Use the drawing tool(s) to form the correct answers on the provided graph.
lianna [129]

Answer:

  see below

Step-by-step explanation:

A graphing calculator can help you do this.

__

The function crosses the y-axis where x=0.

  g(0) = -5^0 +5 = -1 +5

  g(0) = 4

The function crosses the x-axis where g(x) = 0

  0 = -5^x +5

  5^x = 5 = 5^1

  x = 1

  g(1) = 0

The points of interest are (0, 4) and (1, 0).
