DaniilM [7]

Answer:

True statements are:

C. The water level decreased by \abs{-12} inches.

E. The water level experienced a change of 12 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

A change in the water level of a swimming pool is recorded a -12 inches.

Now, from the above statements, we have to choose options statements that are true.

A. The water level increased by 12 inches. This is false.

B. The water level increased by \abs{-12} inches. This is also false.

C. The water level decreased by \abs{-12} inches. This is a true statement.

D. The water level has a height of -12 inches. This is again a false statement.

E. The water level experienced a change of 12 inches. This is a true statement. (Answer)

Determine which polynomial is a perfect square trinomial.
Colt1911 [192]
 <span>Trinomial Ax^2 + Bx + C is perfect square if:
A > 0
C > 0
B = ±2√A√C

36b^2 − 24b − 16
 C < 0

4a^2 − 10a + 25
 2√A√C = 2*2*5 = 20,
 B = −10

16x^2 + 24x − 9
 not perfect square,
 C < 0

4x^2 − 12x + 9
perfect square:
A>0,
C>0,
2√A√C
= 2*2*3
= 12
 = -B
= (2x − 3)^2
hope this helps</span>

Can two box plots have the same range and iqr and yet represent completely diff data.. explain
Mila [183]
Yes it is possible. Consider the following scenarios

Scenario A:
Min = 5
Q1 = 10
Median = 12
Q3 = 18
Max = 22

The IQR is equal to the difference of Q3 and Q1
IQR = Q3-Q1 = 18-10 = 8
The range is the difference of the min and max
Range = Max - Min = 22 - 5 = 17

So in summary for scenario A, we have
IQR = 8
Range = 17

----------------------------------------------------------

Now consider another scenario, call it scenario B, where

Min = 100
Q1 = 102
Median = 105
Q3 = 110
Max = 117

I claim that the IQR and Range for scenario B is going to be the same as in Scenario A. Let's find out

IQR = Q3 - Q1 = 110 - 102 = 8
Range = Max - Min = 117 - 100 = 17

So
IQR = 8
Range = 17
which is identical to scenario A.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scenario B has completely different data than scenario A, yet the IQR and Range are equal to scenario A's counterparts. This shows that it is possible to have 2 completely sets of data yet have the same IQR and range.

The wrap up here, and the answer to the question, is "yes it is possible" with the explanation given above.

Angle C is an inscribed angle of circle P. Angle C measures (x + 5)° and arc AB measures (4x)° . Find x.
erastova [34]

Step-by-step explanation:

m \angle \: C =  \frac{1}{2} (m \: arc \: AB)\\(By\:inscribed \:\angle\:theorem) \\  \\  \therefore \: (x + 5) \degree =\frac{1}{2} (4x)\degree  \\  \\ \therefore \: x + 5=\frac{1}{2} \times  4x \\  \\ \therefore \: x + 5=2x \\  \\ \therefore \: x  - 2x =  - 5 \\  \\ \therefore \:  - x =  - 5 \\  \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \huge \purple{ \boxed{\therefore \:  x =   5}}
