Hello,

do you know what 6% equals in decimal?

With such information, all you must do is multiply the decimal value of 6% to 8000, then add that value to 8000 for the markup value.

Answer:

The average rate will be -11000 dollars per year.

Step-by-step explanation:

The price of a house in 2005 = $250,000

The  price of a house in 2010 = $195,000

at x₁ = 2005, f(x₁) = 250,000

at x₂ = 2010,  f(x₂) = 195,000

Using the formula to determine the average rate of change for the

house each year.

Average rate = [f(x₂) - f(x₁)] / [ x₂ - x₁]

                      = [195,000 - 250,000 ] / [2010-2005]

                      = -55000 / 5

                      = -11000

Therefore, the average rate will be -11000 dollars per year.

3x = 24 You are not supposed to subtract 3 from x, you are supposed to divide instead. So you will divide each side by 3.

So it would be:
x = 8

A) Sub g(x) and h(x) into the equation:
x^2 + 3x - 40 - (-x -3)
= x^2 + 3x - 40 +x + 3
= x^2 + 4x - 37
Find x:
x= 4.40 and x= -8.40
b) Sub f(x) and g(x) into the equation:
(x^2 - 64) / (x^2 + 3x -40)
= ((x+8) x (x-8)) / ((x+8) x (x-5))
= (x - 8) / (x-5)
Find x:
x= 8 and x = 5
How to get those number:
(x^2 - 64) = x^2 - 8^2 = (x-8) x (x+8)
( x^2 + 3x - 40) = (x^2 + +8x - 5x - 40) = x( x + 8) - 5( x + 8) = (x-5) x (x+8)
