The correct answer is C. the blacklisting of suspected communists.

McCarthyism symbolizes Senator Joseph McCarthy's significant impact on America during the 1950's. His claims of knowing about communists in the State Department and Hollywood caused for an increased amount of paranoia in the US. Along with this, it resulted in hundreds of individuals going before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC).

This Congressional body called in individuals and questioned their ties to either communism or the Soviet Union. This resulted in people losing their jobs or being "blacklisted." This term means that these people would not be hired in their industry. This happened to ten Hollywood producers, directors, and actors. These individuals became known as the "Hollywood Ten."

At the beginning of the Constitutional Convention, the delegates agreed on a set of rules. One
loris [4]

Answer:

A. It would allow the delegates to speak openly and honestly with each other

D.  It would prevent the delegates from being pressured by the public

Explanation:

A. It would allow the delegates to speak openly and honestly with each other

[] With the secrecy rule, the delegates could speak openly since this would not reach the public. It helped to let them make decisions since there was less pressure from the public (ties into option D).

D.  It would prevent the delegates from being pressured by the public

[] If the public didn't know what was going on, they could not pressure

The second and third options do not make sense because the delegates wanted everyone to attend (they also wanted the votes to be as unanimous as possible) and they were not planning specific military strategies at this time.

Have a nice day!

1. why were east germans in a worse financial position than west germans? (1 point)
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:  The East German communist command economy limited economic prosperity

Explanation:  East Germany was part of the Soviet interest zone after the Second World War. Like all other countries with imposed communist regimes, the economy is strictly governed by the government, that is the command economy. In an economy where there is no free market, all economic parameters are determined by the government, and so is the case of East Germany. Although Berlin was completely destroyed at the end of WWII, West Berlin, which was part of the Western Allied Zone, advanced much faster than East Berlin.

ollegr [7]

Answer:

C ) The equator divides Africa between the Eastern and western Hemisphere.

Explanation:

The continent is cut almost equally in two by the Equator, so that most of Africa lies within the tropical region, bounded on the north by the Tropic of Cancer and on the south by the Tropic of Capricorn. Because of the bulge formed by western Africa, the greater part of Africa's territory lies north of the Equator.
