The collective farming only focused on the growth of the agricultural produce but the communes focused on development of the infrastructure of the country like building dams, bridges, projects etc along with the development of agricultural produce.

  • The commune system which was started by Mao Zedong was the great leap forward in China.
  • It was different from the collective farming because the collective farming only focused on improving the agricultural produce but the communes focused on building the dams, bridges, the irritation system etc also along with increasing the agricultural produce. It also provided the workers with medical care, food, stay etc.
  • Communes turned out to be a successful policy as it built the infrastructure of the country.
