A 2012 report from the U.S. Surgeon General stated: "Another common practice is strategically locating tobacco-related marketing

materials where young children will be exposed to them. Tobacco industry executives acknowledge that products and advertising should be placed at eye level (Pollay 2007), but in California, 48% of stores had at least one cigarette marketing item at or below 3 feet from the floor (Feighery et al. 2001)." It was also noted that 25% of cigarette displays were next to candy. In addition, a national study found that about one-third of the stores had tobacco ads at low heights. After California banned counter displays, some stores place cigarettes in a see-through display so product brands could still be seen.
What is the main reason that states like California ban counter displays of tobacco products?

A) To decrease opportunities for the shoplifting of these high-revenue items
B) To discourage underage tobacco use by limiting the advertisement and product placement
C) To ensure children don't accidentally purchase cigarettes thinking they are candy
D) To punish cigarette companies by hiding their products from the public

Answer:

This ban is to discourage underage usage of tobacco by limiting advertising catered to kids and teens.

Explanation:

Tobacco is especially dangerous for underage users, so states like California banned these displays because of the health effects tobacco products have on kids and teens and how because these ads are put at lower levels, kids are more likely to see and consider them.

1. How can I use the Overload Principle (FITT) to improve aerobic fitness?
Arada [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

The overload principle is one of the seven big laws of fitness and training. Simply put, it says that you have to increase the intensity, duration, type, or time of a workout progressively in order to see adaptations. The adaptations are improvements in endurance, strength, or muscle size.

In other words, when a client first starts working out, from having been previously mostly sedentary, they will see some quick gains. But, as they get fitter, you will need to increase the intensity of their training to continue to see those gains. If they continue lifting the same weights for the same number of sets and reps, week after week, the body will have adjusted to the stress, there will be no more adaptations and they will plateau.

Answer:

Gene-environment interactions.

Explanation:

In gene-environment interactions, the field of epigenetics looks beyond the genotype itself and studies how the same genotype can be expressed in different ways. Scientists studied how the same genotype can turn out to be very different phenotypes. Gene expression is most of the time influenced by the environment in ways that are not always obvious. As we see in this case, identical twins share the same genetic information, their genetic material is exactly the same, but even with identical genes, there can be an incredible amount of difference in how gene expression can turn out throughout each twin’s life, one with schizophrenia and one completely healthy mentally.

A. Set a deadline for completion.
