Ellie's age = 58 years

Genya's age = 2 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let e represent Ellie's age

and

g be Genya's Age

Then

e+g = 60\ \ \ Eqn1

In six years

Ellie will be e+6 years old and Genya will be g+6 years old

then

g+6 = 8(e+6)\\g+6 = 8e+48\\g = 8e+48-6\\g = 8e+42\ \ \ Eqn2

Putting g= 8e+42 in equation 1

e+8e+42 = 60\\9e +42 -42 = 60-42\\9e = 18

Dividing both sides by 9

\frac{9e}{9} = \frac{18}{9}\\e=2

Putting e = 2 in equation 1

e+g = 60\\2+g = 60\\g = 60-2\\g = 58

Hence,

Ellie's age = 58 years

Genya's age = 2 years

Answer:

<h2>The flat pay $25 represents the intercept</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

To answer this question we need to first understand and compare it with the equation of straight line.

i.e y= mx+c  which is the equation of line

where m= slope

           y= dependent variable

           x= independent variable

          c= intercept

Given

y= 25+5h

comparing both expression we can see that

25 corresponds to c which is the intercept
