The correct answer is C) all of the above.

American people and business were affected by the depression in that families had little cash to buy goods, businesses laid-off workers or closed down, and people lost their savings due to bank failures.

The United States stock market crash in October 1929, initiated the era called the Great Depression in America. After the terrible stock market crash, people lost their jobs, many companies had to close, and many banks went into bankruptcy. It was one of the most difficult times in the US. The economy suffered so much and people were desperate to find a job to help their families.

Which of the following best explains why competition is an important part of a free-market system?
Sergio [31]

Answer: Without competition, people would not have a lot of choices.

In economics, a free market is a system in which the prices for goods and services are determined by the producers and consumers, in which the laws of supply and demand are free from any intervention by a government or other authority.

In a free market, a choice on what products are produced, how, when and where they are made, its target market and at what price are all based on supply and demand.

Supply and demand create competition which in turn gives people a lot of choices, better quality at a lower price.
