1. The measures of the length and the width of the picture are equal, so the picture is square shaped.

2. The enlarged picture will still be a square, since when we enlarge, we enlarge all distances with the same factor.

3. Let the dimensions of the large picture be a (length) by a (width)

4. Area of picture = a^{2}=192  in^{2}

a= \sqrt{192} =   \sqrt{16*12}= \sqrt{16*4*3}=4*2* \sqrt{3}=8\sqrt{3} (feet)

Answer: the dimensions are 8\sqrt{3} (feet) by 8\sqrt{3} (feet)

Solve the rational equation 5 divided by x equals quantity 4 times x plus 1 end quantity divided by x squared, and check for ext
lakkis [162]

Answer:

x =1,   x = 0 is extraneous.

Step-by-step explanation:

5/x = 4x + 1 / x^2

5x^2 = 4x^2 + x

5x^2 - 4x^2 - x = 0

x^2 - x = 0

x(x - 1) = 0

x = 0, 1.

x is not a solution because 5/x is undefined.

Find the magnitude of the vector v=&lt;-1,3&gt;.<br>√10<br>10<br>8<br>2√2
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

√10

Step-by-step explanation:

Magnitude of a vector:

The magnitude of a vector v = <a,b> is given by:

|v| = \sqrt{a^2 + b^2}

v=<-1,3>

Then:

|v| = \sqrt{(-1)^2 + 3^2} = \sqrt{1 + 9} = \sqrt{10}

\sqrt{10} is the magnitude of the vector.
