Well for one it helps with where people are allowed to smoke. A law has passed about people smoking in restaurants. It’s no longer allowed.
It is meaningless now because the division of the countries is now in only two groups. The concept of developing countries is now outdated.

Hans Rosling is an edutainer at the Gapminder foundation which was co founded by him only. He believes that the concept of developing countries is old now. It is meaningless. Now the countries should not be divided in more than two groups.
Dividing the countries of the world in more than two groups is long overdue now. It was done during the time of soviet union but now this concept and the mindset of the people should definitely change. The concept of developing countries only fill the empty column of the middle and form socioeconomic continuum. Otherwise it is meaningless now.
