How do gametes differ from somatic cells?

Biology

Other cells are somatic cells-regular body and organ cells. Also, gametes have half the number of chromosomes as somatic cells do. This is because, when the zygote is formed (sperm and egg form together) they take their chromosomes together to make the number of chromosomes a somatic cell has. Gametes are sex cells-sperm and egg.

Gametes are your sex cells. They go through Meiosis. Somatic cells are every other cell in your body and they go through Mitosis.

36. Breezes are named
77julia77 [94]

The correct answer is - D- for the feature they blow from.

The breezes have all sorts of names, most of which tend to be derived from the feature they flow from. Lot of winds are named after the side of the world that they come from, so there's easterlies, westerlies, northern winds, southern winds. Some are maned after a river, as they flow along side it, like Vardarec. Some may be named after a mountain, or just have a name similar to a mountain, like mountain wind, forest wind, gorski vetrec.

Some winds, on the other hand, have names that describe their force, especially that goes for the strong ones, like bura along the Croatian coast on the Adriatic Sea.

Which microscope would be most useful for quickly estimating the number of red blood cells in a patients blood sample
MAVERICK [17]
The most useful microscope to use would be a Compound Light Microscope. These microscopes are limited to about a good 2000X magnification. Not only can you use this to estimate the number of red blood cells, but it is good for seeing and identifying protozoa, bacteria, and organism cells.
