The United States interfered with the Korean War because of 3 reasons.
1. North Korea acted as a buffer zone between communist china and japan.
2. Due to the Domino Policy they believed if all of Korea fell to communism the rest of asia would too and that needs to be stopped.
3. It wanted to show the world that it was still a very strong country and wanted to show russia and china that it will stop the spread of communism and it will not allow it to spread.

1953 – Under orders from President Eisenhower, the CIA organized a military coup that overthrew Iran’s democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh. Britain, unhappy that Iran nationalized its oil industry, came up with the idea for the coup and pressed the United States to mount a joint operation to remove Mossadeqh. For years, the U.S. denied its involvement in the 1953 coup, but in March 2000, then Secretary of State Madeline Albright admitted, “In 1953 the United States played a significant role in orchestrating the overthrow of Iran’s popular Prime Minister, Mohammed Mossadeqh. The Eisenhower Administration believed its actions were justified for strategic reasons; but the coup was clearly a setback for Iran’s political development. And it is easy to see now why many Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America in their internal affairs.”

Which of the following best describes how European powers responded to Islamic expansion?
Maslowich

Answer:

Europeans viewed Islam as a threat and worked hard on stopping its spread. At that time Islam saw a great expansion in North Africa and even on the Iberian peninsula which was almost fully under the rule of Muslims. Later wars were fought and Muslims were pushed back down the peninsula into a small area that after a few centuries the new kingdom of Castile eliminated. So to summarize Christians in Europe did not like the Muslim expansion and as soon as they could they worked on eliminating them.
