The total cost minus the cost of the cream cheese will give us the cost of 13 bagels, if we divide by 13 we'll get the cost of one bagel

$7.50- $2.95=$4.55 for 13 bagels

$4.55/ 13= $.35 cent per bagel

WOW that's a great price for a bagel

Hope this helps

Ok, first set this up as an equation with your given variables. You know that Sylvie bought 1 container of cream cheese, which is $2.95, and you know that Sylvie spent $7.50 (my best assumption is this is the subtotal) on the cream cheese and 13 bagels. As an equation, it would come out as:

7.50=2.95+13(b)

To start solving the algebraic equation, wou can subtract 2.95 on both sides, resulting as

4.55=13 (b)

Now, to get "b" by itself, you must divide 13 on both sides, resulting as

.35=b

This will answer your question as the cost of 1 bagel would be $0.35 per bagel.

The population of a town is 13,000. It decreases at a rate of 5% per year. In about how many years will the population be less t
just olya [345]

This is an exponential decay problem.

Using the equation Y = a *(1-rate)^time

where Y is the future value given as 12,000 and a is the starting value given as 13,000.

The rate is also given as 5%.

The equation becomes:

12,000 = 13,000(1-0.05)^x

12,000 = 13,000(0.95)^x

Divide each side by 13000:

12000/13000 = 0.95^x/13000

12/13 = 0.95^x

Use the natural log function:

x = ln(12/13) / ln(0.95)

x = 1.56 years. ( this will equal 12,000

Round to 2 years it will be less than 12000.

Find two numbers a and b such that a+b=0 and ab=36
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

b = 6i then a = -6i

b = -6i then a = 6i

Step-by-step explanation:

a+b=0

ab=36

a = -b

a(b) = 36

-b * b = 36

- b^2 = 36

b^2 = -36

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(b^2) = sqrt(-36)

b =± 6i

a = - (± 6i)

so b = 6i then a = -6i

b = -6i then a = 6i
